GQTI inspects tugboats prior to issuance of Certificate of Accreditation from PHIVIDEC

Genesis Quezon Tugs, Inc. (GQTI) management and staff visited Cagayan de Oro last May 16, 2022 to conduct inspections of GQTI tugboats that shall render tugboat services in Phividec Industrial Authority.

Together with Phividec Port Management Authorities, the inspection was a requirement prior to the issuance of GQTI Certificate of Accreditation. This is in line with the company’s marketing and operations expansion to serve vessels not only in Quezon Province but also in other parts of the country where GQTI services are needed.

 

Present during the visit were the following inspectors:

  • Captain Tom Racaza, Harbor Master 
  • Dr. Alan Paul Reyes, Port Manager
  • Mr. Mario Alaud, Clearing Supervisor

 

Meanwhile, GQTI were represented by:

  • Capt. Ireneo U. de los Santos, President
  • Mr. Jose A. Gacosta, Vice President
  • Ms. Shermane I. Penuela, Marketing Executive

 

To ensure that the tugboats stationed in Cagayan De Oro comply with performance standards and requirements of GQTI and regulatory bodies, the tug lines, waste disposal system, bridge were carefully inspected. The GQTI Tugboat Certificate of Registry from MARINA, as well as the Professional Licenses of Tug Masters & Chief Engineers were also verified.

Covid-19 protocols according to IATF regulations were observed all throughout the inspection. 

The first assist of GQTI in Phividec is scheduled around 3rd week of May 2022.
