Vessels arriving and/or departing the port of anchorages are required to contact the Port control or signal stations to report and receive instructions whether the vessel will proceed directly to berth or to the designated anchorage.
Agents and Masters send their notices of the vessel’s ETA at 72 / 48 / 24 / 12 hours to Port authorities, tug company and pilot boarding ground.
When a vessel arrives, the agent will contact the tugboat company, stating the arrival time, including berthing queueing. Thus, a tugboat will stay on standby on Channel 16 VHF waiting for instructions. Once the Harbor pilot on board calls for a tug for final boarding, the tugboat then proceeds to the vessel to pick up the Pilot for berthing.
After completion of docking/undocking operations, our tugboats remain anchored at Pagbilao 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
