Genesis Quezon Tugs Inc. (GQTI) has deep roots in the Calabarzon region of Luzon island

Founded by the former pilots of Quezon Harbor Pilots Company, Inc., we began our first cargo handling operations in 2016 in a small corner of Quezon province by handling and assisting more than 120 vessels. Driven by a pioneering spirit, these dedicated marine pilots have an extensive seasoned seafaring experience as masters, manning, and maneuvering ships from tugboats to VLCCs in foreign waters.

Last year, we have undergone rescue operations of a vessel MV FREESTAR ran-aground due to bad weather in a nearby port. One of our 4,000BHP tugs was asked for a rescue by pulling the grounded vessel.

Vessels arriving and/or departing the port of anchorages are required to contact the Port control or signal stations to report and receive instructions whether the vessel will proceed directly to berth or to the designated anchorage.

Tugboats are boats used for maneuvering, pushing and towing vessels. Tugs, with its powerful engine, can move all other types of vessels by pushing or pulling them either by direct contact or by means of a tow line.
